Description

This time of year astronomical twilight never ends here at 53 degrees north. So when I tried to image the recently found supernova in M101, I had to adjust my settings.
Integration times of 6 minutes were used, to squeeze in 5 integrations of 360s each for LRGB in the available two hours of amateur twilight. This image is definitely not as deep as would be possible under real dark conditions. The images were taken between 00:30h and 02:30h local time.
Another problem is the many satellite trails that are visible in the frames because of these twilight conditions. Due to the low number of frames, I was not able to get rid of them completely, not even with the  "large scale pixel rejection" trick.
But still I'm quite pleased with this result! The supernova is the bright blue star with spikes in the middle of the image near NGC5461.

Comparing it to SN2011fe in M101, I think that one was still bit brighter!
